It was a beautiful cool winter day, when my wife, Meg, and I were traveling in the Clifton area of north Jersey, when we decided to pay a visit to a New Jersey legendary brewery that we had heard much about…the “Ghost Hawk Brewing Company” (GHBC). To our surprise, it was located between two other well known New Jersey icons, Rutt’s Hut (which was across the street, a famous eatery) and the excellent distillery, “Silk City”, which is literally next door!

It took us a few minutes to find the entrance of the GHBC, but when we did…we were so glad that we came. The first thing we noticed when we went inside was a big refrigerator door with a giant logo of the company on it. The tasting room and brew house is a relatively large room…the kettles and tanks back lit with relaxing blue lights. Their warehouse is huge. The bar and the wall behind it, was made from beautifully hand-crafted wood. There was a long table in the center of the tasting room area that was also made from magnificent wood craftsmanship. Ghost Hawk is very pet and family friendly.

There are many kinds of lagers, stouts, wheat beers, IPA’s, and others that are available each day, they are all freshly made, and taste very good! Even if you are not a beer drinker, we really believe that once someone has a taste of one of these glorious drinks, they will have a change of heart. Many of the brews had very creative names and, as mentioned before, were very satisfying, flavorful, and savory. While you are either sitting at the bar, a table, or just standing, you can enjoy you beer with other friendly people who share your love of breweries and beer!

So, if you are ever traveling in Passaic County, New Jersey and are in the Clifton area, make your way to the “Ghost Hawk Brewing Company”. We are sure that you will mark it on your map to visit time and time again!
