Has your life been a series of ups and downs? Even if it hasn’t been…we have just the watering hole for you…the New Jersey Beer Company (NJBC). North Bergen, NJ, is known for its exceptional views of New York City and is also one of the hilliest.  Fun Fact: North Bergen has the second most hills per square mile in the U.S., topped only by San Francisco!

New Jersey Beer Company is the first brewery in Hudson county and was the 11th brewery created in the Garden State. The entrance to the establishment is nondescript but once we found it, we felt like explorers finding hidden treasure….what a delightful and satisfying experience!

Upon entering through a door…sort of hidden within the big outdoor mural…we walked into the tasting room. The smell of freshly brewed beer greeted us and instantly gave us a good feeling about our visit. The taproom has a simple, clean industrial decor with nothing extravagant but don’t be fooled…this place is awesome!! It is not thought of as one of the top NJ breweries for nothing!

We found the bartenders/staff to be very friendly, helpful, and giving. We were offered some free samples as well as given small gifs for visiting (stickers, etc.).  They were also authentically and enthusiastically helpful in suggesting drinks and sharing the history of the company. The company offers their customers a The entire environment of the NJBC is relaxed and welcoming.

To put it in simple terms…all of the drinks that we had were fantastic! They were not only tasty but flavorful and savory. Like many breweries, they have a nice range of thoughtfully brewed IPA’s, Porters, Stouts, Sours, and Lagers. My wife had the “Peanut Butter and Chocolate Porter” and it was AWESOME!! It actually tasted like you were drinking actual peanut butter and chocolate (minus the thickness 🙂 Many delicious and delectable beers are here for your enjoyment…and the best news…you can even buy the beers in most local stores!

The great comedian, Steven Wright once said, “There are 24 hours in a day and 24 beers in a case…coincidence?” By the way, this quote can also be found on the NJBC refrigerator door (along with stickers of hundreds of other breweries, etc.)

The New Jersey Beer Company…a “small, yet mighty” place to visit!
