Tucked away in a small industrial area, just off of Main Street in Hackensack, you will find the fabulous craft beer establishment, the Alementary Brewing Company. It might be a little bit hard to find but when you do, it is like finding buried treasure because, believe us folks, the beer here is clean, crisp and great tasting!
The brewery has a pleasant and fun outdoor patio where you can enjoy your drink and relish the clean fresh air. If you don’t want to sit outside, the tasting room/bar area would be a great choice as well. The bar itself is made up of a marvelously looking shellacked wood and fits nicely with the decor of the room. There are nice plant arrangements scattered throughout the room giving it a relaxing feel to it. The tasting room has a small additional seating area off the main room, in the actual brewing area itself. Some of those tables/barrels (which serve as tables) are located in between the kettles, fermentation vessels, and tanks. Sitting in this area will REALLY make you feel like you are part of the brewery! Alementary is also very pet and family friendly!
We found the bartenders, Ethan and Kyle, to be EXTREMELY friendly, helpful, and willing to serve us at our barrel table. We had great conversations with them and they were more than happy to not only answer our questions, but to share their thoughts about their love for beer. The entire atmosphere at Alementary is welcoming, invigorating, and agreeable. There is a great positive vibe here!! If you are having a bad day or have a need to feel encouraged then the Alementary Brewing Company is just for you!
We found all of the beverages that we drank from our flights to be very flavorful, delicious, and savory. The brewery has won several awards and competitions throughout their history with their specialty being lagers. Sours and all kinds of ales are also available. They have a great selection of beer and a lot of them can be found in your local beer and liquor stores! Three of their most well known beers are the “Hackensack Lager”, the “A-Game” (IPA), and “Random Placement”(Pale Ale). One of the practices and processes that is done at Alementary is that they do not waste their ingredients. They use all of them to their fullest potential before replacing them with new and fresh ingredients. The result: great tasting, palate tickling, and satisfying beer!
The owners of Alementary, Blake and MIke, have created a great brewery complete with a warm environment, fantastic bartenders, and fresh wholesome beer! It may be a little hard to find but once you do…you will never forget its location because we believe that it will be a location that you will want to visit time and time again!
