We found the ManaFirkin Brewing Company to be an incredibly fun and enjoyable craft beer destination…and the best part…wonderful and flavorful beer! First of all, just the name of the brewery is fun…ManaFirkin. You are probably asking yourself, what in the world is a ManaFirkin and how did they create that name? Well, MANA comes from the first part of the name of the town that the alehouse is located…MANAhawkin. The second part of the name, FIRKIN is another name for a small cask that was used to store beer or wine. Thus the name, ManaFirkin…very cool and creative! The decor/theme of the ManaFirkin Brewing Company has an oceanic/beach/boat feel to it. 

The outdoor seating area is spacious and has plenty of seating for everyone! There are tall wooden posts placed around the area which not only hold the string of lights, but are also decorated with boat markers. These are used by boat drivers. Basically, red marker buoys should be on your right (starboard) as you return from open water. Conversely, green channel markers should be on your starboard side as you head out into open water. The red marker buoys also have a triangular shape. With daybeacons or boards, the sign itself is a triangle…pretty neat!

Inside the main building, there are many things that are entertaining and fun to experience. It is a family, child, and pet friendly facility where everyone is welcome! There are plenty of games that are accessible to play. The brewery has a decent sized gift shop in which there are MANY things that are available for purchase called the “Brewtique.” This is most likely the biggest gift shop that we have seen at a brewery yet! Scattered around the tasting room/bar area are a lot of enjoyable things to discover. For example, upon entering the building, you will come across a sign that mimics the Notre Dame motto, “Play Like A Champion Today” by stating, “Drink Like A Champion Today”…good stuff! I love it! There is a big screen TV mounted on a side wall showing all kinds of surfing videos and other water-related films. The woodwork of the tables is just beautiful…great workmanship!! Besides these beautiful tables, there are also picnic tables available along with another space, separate from the tasting room, where you can partake in a tasty drink. One other fun item to see is the beer keg urinals in the unisex bathrooms…we have never seen one before…VERY interesting!!

The bartenders are knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to help. There are many, many drinks of all kinds that are available…25 of them on tap! ManaFirkin offers fresh, wholesome beer with all kinds of flavors that you will want to try. There are hoppy and floral tasting IPA’s of all kinds that you will enjoy. There are lighter drinks like seltzers and ales such as the “Sea Gull Brawl” white ale or the seltzer, “Firkin Bubbly.” Delicious and flavorsome drinks such as the “Trippin’ Monkey Belgian Tripel” or the “Playing Pretend” oatmeal stout, are just a few of the tremendous variety of beverages that can be purchased. Saisons, Porters, Stouts, Lagers…the list goes on and on…the good news…the beers are constantly changing, revolving, and rotating. No matter what time of year or season, there will ALWAYS be a drink that will satisfy any beer lover’s palate!

ManaFirkin Brewing Company…a fun destination to visit, a neighborly and inviting atmosphere…and great beer tastes for everyone! We encourage you to take the time to visit this treasure…you will be glad you did!
