The Rough Cut Brewery in Kerhonkson, NY, is a fabulous little craft brewery, right on US Route 44/55. This hidden gem was suggested by a friend of mine to visit the brewery…and man, are we glad we did!! The atmosphere had a welcoming and happy vibe. When you visit this treasure, you need to ask for Toni… she was our waitress. Her big smile, friendly demeanor, and helpful suggestions made our time there especially enjoyable. She rocks!

Along with the friendly service (the other workers were great too) Rough Cut has very tasty and savory drinks that go down smooth and leave a great taste in your mouth. There is a nice outdoor area where you may sit (pets are allowed but only outside). There is an outdoor tap located in the seating area along with many tables (big, old wooden spools) and stools where you can enjoy your drinking experience. The tasting room/bar area has a charming country/rustic decor, is clean and well maintained with a great positive atmosphere.

There are twelve beers on tap and ready for your enjoyment. Some of the drinks are named after local things such as the flavorful pilsner, “Station 33” named after the fire department which will soon celebrate its 100th year anniversary…the double IPA, the “Minnewaska Trail” is named after a 1.9 mile trail in the MInnewaska State Park popular for its bird watch, cross-country skiing and hiking…and the “44/55” double IPA named after the highway that the brewery is in. Rough Cut also offers porters, sours, single, double, and triple IPA’s, as well as Belgian pale, dubbel, and tripel, and scotch ales!! All of the drinks have a pure, clean taste and are certainly a joy to partake! There is food available as well. The smashed burgers are juicy, flavorful, and OUTSTANDING! There wasn’t a food item that we had that didn’t make us smile and make our bellies feel happy!

You really need to make it a point to visit the Rough Cut Brewery. If you really enjoy great craft brews and tasty and delicious food, then this place is just for you!

CHEERS!
