In the small town of Westwood, in northern New Jersey, known for its many shops and eateries, you will find one of the nicest breweries, the spectacular “Five Dimes Brewery.” (On the site.of the old L.N. 5 & 10 Cent Store). Located right on the main thoroughfare, Westwood Avenue, you will enjoy its spacious tasting rooms and three additional levels and spaces to spend time with your friends and family. They have a rooftop area that overlooks the street and offers not only a great westerly view in which you can see some awesome sunsets, but also overlooks the main shopping area of Westwood. There is an adjoining room complete with a fireplace, bar, and seating area. The tasting room is a large area that has beautifully carved wooden tables/bar tops, a mini tabletop shuffleboard table, games, and an awesome fireplace! There is an upper balcony level complete with beautiful sofas, lounge chairs, and tables and chairs. There is memorabilia scattered around the establishment that gives you the feel of the building’s previous business…an old “Five and Ten” store…pretty cool!
The beer is fresh and savory. Check out their signature IPA’s, the “Sunny Day” and the NEIPA, the “Hazy Place”, and their fabulous “Nickel Stout”. There are many flavors of seltzers (lemon-lime, ginger, watermelon, blackberry, raspberry, and passion fruit) as well as other wholesome kinds of ales, a Bavarian wheat beer, lagers, and sours, and a plethora of other drinks! You will find that the beertenders, customers, and the managers (Matt, the social media manager is awesome and a great person to speak with).
When the founders bought the area a few years ago, the previous owner told them that they really hoped that the brewery would continue to be a great community space where people could gather and enjoy each other’s company. Well, I have great news…Five Dimes is certainly a place where plenty of people gather to not only have a good time with others but to enjoy clean and savory craft beer! Five Dimes Brewery… a terrific destination for all craft beer lovers!!!
