Fun Facts About Washington, New Jersey

*During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the borough became a Mecca of musical instruments manufacturers such as the melodeon and piano but in particular the manufacture of organs.

*The town’s oldest existing building has a marker that reads 1756 but it probably dates back to 1732.

Looking for a hip, chic, and relaxing location to enjoy a nice, cold brew? Well, look no further than the Buttville Brewing Company in Washington, New Jersey! We found the brewery to be delightful and refreshing. The indoor tasting room has a rustic/farm-type feel to it with all kinds of antiques scattered around to add to the decor’s appeal. Though the room is relatively small, there are plenty of tables and chairs for everyone. There are two small window table areas that are nifty little nooks that you will enjoy. There is a charming outdoor beer garden in the back that is beautifully decorated.There was a strong scent of hops permeating throughout the room with the brewery room located in the back. The bartender, Glenn, was extremely happy, cheerful, and enthusiastic and was more than happy to serve and speak with us. The establishment is child and family friendly.

There is a good range of brews offered such as their three signature drinks, the “Norwegian Sprinter”, a blonde ale, a stout oatmeal beer, the “Buns of Steel”, and the NEIPA, the “Hop to It.” There are other fresh and savory drinks available such as a dry-hopped Krösh, an American pale wheat, sours, and a plethora of seltzers. The menu of tasty concoctions are always changing as well…so you will need to visit often!

There are many enjoyable events that are offered such as live music, trivia night, music bingo, board game Sundays, vinyl night, etc. There are also many board games for the family available! 

The next time you are in Warren county in the Washington area, make plans to visit this fine brewery that has “The Great Beer With A Cheeky Name!”
