The Bucket Brigade Brewery was founded in 2018 by two veterans firefighters, brothers, Karl and Kurt Hughes. The atmosphere of the brewery is very friendly and welcoming. The desire of the brothers is for the brewery has a “come as you are, enjoy yourself”, and a “our house is your house” environment…and that it does! There is a charming outdoor patio area located at the front of the brewery and the indoor tasting room/bar is a delightful experience complete with a chock full of new and vintage memorabilia such as firemen uniforms, helmets, fire extinguishers, patches, awards, and other goodies. They certainly add to the alluring decor! Their love and dedication to firemen are VERY evident and appreciated! We found the bartender, Scotty, to be a lot of fun, interesting, and a joy to talk with. (Note: if you are ever in the Cape May area, Scotty has a morning radio show on channel 100.7, WZXL, “Scotty and Jojo in the Morning…Check it out!) There is a great assortment of brews that would meet almost anyone’s tastes. There are creme, brut, and amber ales, hazy and double IPA’s, a Maibock, American stout, a white wheat beer, a creative cucumber mint gose, a double chocolate American stout, a blueberry melon hop tea, and others. Of course, they are always changing. You really need to try them! (Another cool note: Karl’s son, Karlson, is the brewmaster!!)

The Cape May area contains many craft breweries and if you are in the area, this one is a “must visit” for not only the flavorsome drinks but for the experience of seeing the collectibles and relics of the fire department!

CHEERS!
