Fun Facts About Cape May, New Jersey
*Cape May was named after a Dutch captain, Cornelius Jacobsen Mey. Due to a misspelling on the original paperwork, Cape “Mey” became Cape May, NJ. The Dutch used to refer to modern day South Jersey as the “New Netherlands.”
*Cape May’s first hotel was the Atlantic House, built in 1791 by Ellis Hughes.

Why not stop by and visit this fun, dynamic, and unique brewery for a delicious beer? Located at the corner of the North Cape May Shopping Center, this delightful gem has an enjoyable and pleasant atmosphere. They have charming and delightful bartenders…like our server, Sam, whose big smile and terrific sense of humor made us feel welcome and right at home. She was awesome!
The brewery has a nice little outside seating area in which you can bring your pet Outdoors only), sit and enjoy the invigorating ocean breeze. The indoor taproom is a comfortable and welcoming area which contains marvelous wooden tables with a blue polymer mixed in. The bar is also a gorgeous work of art. There are records that are played at certain times and there are many games available to play and a nifty video golf game!
During owner Zack Pashley’s time serving in the Coast Guard, he and his wife, Adriana, explored many breweries. In 2018, they opened Gusto. There are many ever-changing brews available for your delight on a rotating basis such as the flavorful oatmeal stout, some IPA’s, a pale ale, summer saison, and imperial stout and more!!! The motto of Gusto “Keep it Small – Keep it Weird” is a fun and entertaining brewery to visit. We are sure that you will love it!!
