If you are looking for a brewery in which you can sit down, kick up your feet, enjoy great beer in a relaxing yet rustic and neighborly atmosphere…then the Flounder Brewing Company is the place for you! Located in a refurbished 250 year old Dutch barn complete with the original beams and surrounded by beautiful farm lands complete with all kinds of livestock which you can visit. You may be wondering why this brewery is called “Flounder” yet it is located inland, far away from the ocean. Well, the answer is the name “Flounder” was derived from the character in the movie, “Animal House” who was a member of Delta House!

Many of their drinks are named after certain aspects of the movie. We found all the bartenders, Sam, Eva, and Connor, to be so friendly, cheerful, and happy to serve us..great people! There is a wide variety of really great tasting ales, IPA’s, Pilsners, stouts, Hefeweizen, slushies, ambers, and seltzers made from their 18 kettle system. You need to try them all, you won’t be disappointed. The “Hill Street Honey” won a silver award out of 6000 blonde ales while using local hops. A couple of their flagship brews are the “Scarlet Red” red amber and the yummy, “Fred” hazy IPA. Their tasting room is a huge, spacious room as well as the cozy and rustic “hay loft” located just above the taproom floor.
