Fun Facts About Belmar, New Jersey

*On April 16, 1889, it became the City of Elcho borough, which lasted for a few weeks until the name was changed to the City of Belmar Borough on May 14, 1889. The city acquired its current name, Borough of Belmar, on November 20, 1890. The borough’s name means “beautiful sea” in Italian.

The next time you are visiting the beautiful Jersey Shore, and are in the mood for great tasting food and flavorful beer, then you really need to make plans to visit the Beach Haus Brewery located in Belmar, NJ. The brewery is one of the few breweries in the Garden State in which you can not only enjoy a craft brew but eat a meal as well! 

Located on the original site of Freeman’s Bakery, the Beach Haus has a decor that makes you feel like you are right on the beach. As you enter the brewery, the bottom floor contains a charming and oceanic decor lobby/bar/seating area in which you can also buy merchandise. The interior design of the second floor is very clean, chic, with a brick and industrial feel to it, The taproom is found here as well as a food menu and eatery!!! There is also a rooftop patio just outside the taproom (and another rooftop seating area on the third floor roof!)

There are 15-20 terrific tasting beers on tap such as one of their flagship IPA’s, the “Swell.The are many varieties of all kinds of brews such as ales, lagers, IPA’s, stouts, sours, pilsners, Märzens, wheat beers, and hard ciders. Our beertender, Aidan, was simply a joy to talk to. His neighborly and friendly demeanor made us feel relaxed, welcome and like we were right at home. 

The Beach Haus Brewery is paired up with the 801 Kitchen which offers great food you can enjoy in the taproom and a warm and inviting dining room!

You really need to check out the “Beach Haus Brewery”!! You will not leave disappointed and it will make your visit to the shore a memorable one!
