Fun Facts About Grin Brewing
*When trying to come up with a name for the brewery, owner Bob Dandeneau’s late wife’s daughter suggested “Grin Brewing” based on his late wife’s collection of license plates from every state that displayed such words as “Smyle”, “Smyl”, etc., and the rest is history!
*********
Grin Brewing is a small but mighty craft brewery located in Keansburg, New Jersey, in a building steeped in history, dating back to 1886. Over its long life, the structure has served many purposes, including a church, post office, town hall, lawyer’s office, bank, police station, and for 50 years, Starks Luncheonette. Now, it proudly houses the classy Grin Brewing. The two-story building offers a cozy lower-level tasting room, complete with brewing kettles and a welcoming atmosphere, while the upstairs boasts a unique German/Hoboken vibe, featuring authentic German Biergarten iron gates. A notable highlight is the massive, immovable safe from a previous lawyer’s office, adding a touch of history and charm.

Grin Brewing is known not only for its warm and delightful atmosphere but also for its cheerful bartenders and friendly owner, Bob Dandeneau, who ensure every visit is memorable. The brewery offers a diverse array of fresh and flavorful drinks, including Mexican, black, red, pale, and American ales, along with stouts, witbiers, porters, and pilsners—guaranteeing there’s something for every palate. Dedicated to sustainability, Grin Brewing sends its spent grains to local farms to feed cows, making sure nothing goes to waste.
This gem of a brewery will leave you with a smile, as their slogan promises, “These beers will put a grin on your face!”
